Reasons and Solutions to Skin Pigmentation by Best Facials Singapore
Staying in a country where everyday is a sunny day with the temperature sometimes hitting a high of 35 degrees, it is difficult to avoid the sun completely. In Singapore, we are especially susceptible to over-exposure to the sun from a tender age. It is quite difficult to convince our young ones to put on sun protection when they go swimming or play games.
Unfortunately, the effects of sun damage become prominent only after 5-10 years. And once pigmentation becomes visible, the skin cells have been reactive and will be prone to more pigmentation.
Before we get into the details of Guinot Hydra Peeling Treatment, lets start with understanding how the skin reacts when exposed to sun.
Our skin is made of 3 main layers: Epidermis, Dermis and Hypodermis.
At the base of the epidermis, melanocytes resembling star-shaped cells are interspersed amongst keratinocytes.
When UV rays trigger the formation of melanin in the melanocytes, it gets transported as melanosomes through its dendrites to the keratinocytes (near to the skin surface) to protect our DNA from being destroyed by the sun.
With the knowledge on how pigments are formed, our primary objective is to sun protect with suncscreen, head gear and avoid direct sun from 11am to 6pm.
If however freckles or sun spots have appeared on your face, our best recommendation is of 2 prongs
1) Good skincare routine which includes Cleanse, Tone, Serum, Cream and Sun screen.
Pigmentation usually affect dehydrated and dry skin. Hence, we would like to suggest a good hydrating serum with Hyaluronic Acid for day. Separately, a good facial oil eg. rose hip oil, omega oil, black orchid oil loaded with regenerating ingredients for night care.
2) Monthly Facial
A good exfoliation is very important to heal pigmented skin as it helps to penetrate some key ingredients like Vitamin A which helps regeneration of new skin cells and allows the skin own immune system to absorb and get rid of the dispersed pigmentation.
It is important to balance between effective exfoliation using save acid including phytic and/or glycolic acid whilst ensuring minimal sensitivity reaction from the skin. Such skincare is difficult to access for consumers. Hence, most home peels don’t work well for pigmentation.
On the other hand, professional beauticians can access to such treatments including Guinot Hydra Peeling Treatment, which is effective to disperse the pigments whilst ensuring healthy skin barrier with a balance of water and oil.
It is recommended to have a Guinot Hydra Peel Facial once a week for 3 weeks followed by Guinot Hydradermie Hydrating Facial in the 4 week. After which once monthly facial alternate between Peel and Hydrating.
